Client Case Study: Fourth Wall Building Consultancy
Sustainability and social impact came together in our work with Fourth Wall Building Consultancy, supporting communications around a Sheffield regeneration project that gave an existing building a new purpose while creating a much-needed space for young people in the local community.

Fourth Wall is an independent building consultancy led by Joshua Weston MRICS IHBC, combining surveying expertise with technology and a strong focus on sustainability and social value. The Prominence Collective supported the business with communications around its work with Sheffield youth charity Chilypep, transforming a former GP surgery in Parson Cross into a new youth and community centre.
The £1 million project provided a strong example of sustainable regeneration in practice. Rather than demolishing the existing building and starting again, it was refurbished and extended, reducing carbon emissions by 60% compared with demolition and rebuilding. The development incorporated measures including an air-source heat pump and solar panels, while creating new facilities including an IT suite, sports hall, accessible spaces, a food bank and areas for counselling and careers support.
The story extended well beyond the building itself. Young people who use Chilypep’s services were involved in shaping the development, helping create a centre that reflected what they and the wider community needed. Fourth Wall had also supported the charity with its successful Youth Investment Fund bid, bringing together environmental sustainability, community regeneration and social value within the same project.
Our communications drew out these different elements to reach audiences across property, construction, business, sustainability and the wider region. We developed stories around the environmental benefits of retaining and adapting an existing building, the impact of the new centre on young people in Sheffield, Fourth Wall’s approach to socially responsible development and Joshua’s own connection to the city.
The resulting coverage reached regional and consumer audiences through Welcome to Yorkshire and local media across South Yorkshire and beyond, while property, construction and facilities management coverage included Design & Build UK, FM Business Daily and Yorkshire Property Guide. Business and professional audiences were also reached through further sector coverage, demonstrating Fourth Wall’s expertise through a tangible example of its work and the outcomes it helped deliver.
Joshua’s profile formed another part of the communications, with an in-depth interview in Design & Build UK providing an opportunity to explore his perspective and professional experience in greater depth.
Reflecting on our work together, Joshua said: “We've already used The Prominence Collective for two separate campaigns and have been incredibly impressed with the quality of their work and the media coverage achieved. We've worked with PR and communications agencies previously who struggled to understand the heart of our business, but The Prominence Collective were able to efficiently and expertly understand my tone of voice, our company and our target audience. I'd wholeheartedly recommend the services of The Prominence Collective.”
Our work with Fourth Wall helped bring together the environmental, community and business significance of the project, creating opportunities to showcase both the development itself and the values and expertise behind it to audiences across different sectors.
