At The Millpond is a neurodiversity consultancy founded by ADHD coach and neuro-inclusion consultant Isobel Lepist, supporting neurodivergent adults through coaching and executive function support while helping organisations create more inclusive environments. Isobel also brings significant lived experience to her work, having been diagnosed with ADHD and autism shortly before her 53rd birthday.

Our work focused on building greater awareness of At The Millpond and its services, establishing Isobel as a recognised expert on neurodiversity and inclusion, and creating opportunities for her knowledge and experience to reach new audiences. Alongside this, we supported the promotion of Isobel’s debut novel, The Event, which explores masking, high achievement, identity and neurodivergence.

Rather than treating the consultancy, Isobel’s profile and the book as separate propositions, we identified the themes that connected them and built a communications approach around late diagnosis, neurodivergent women, masking, workplace inclusion, identity and Isobel’s own experiences.

Our work has spanned communications strategy, media relations, thought leadership, founder profiling, content planning and social media strategy. We developed a three-month social media and content roadmap alongside a proactive programme incorporating expert commentary, opinion pieces, interviews, features, guest articles, broadcast, podcasts and speaking opportunities.

The campaign generated 26 opportunities across national, regional and specialist media, broadcast, podcasts, digital platforms and live events. Isobel featured on BBC News and was interviewed for BBC Radio England, taking her story and expertise to audiences across the BBC’s local radio network.

A major opinion feature with The Big Issue gave Isobel the opportunity to explore late diagnosis and the experiences of neurodivergent women in her own voice, while further coverage included Manchester Evening News, NationalWorld and My Weekly. Specialist opportunities with SEN Magazine and the Autistic Girls Network took her expertise directly to audiences engaged with neurodiversity, education and inclusion.

This mix of mainstream and specialist communications was an important part of the strategy. National and consumer coverage introduced Isobel and At The Millpond to broader audiences, while specialist platforms created opportunities to explore her expertise in greater depth and strengthen the consultancy’s profile among the communities and professional audiences most relevant to its work.

We also looked beyond traditional media. Speaking opportunities put Isobel directly in front of professional audiences, while podcast appearances created space for longer conversations about neurodivergence, diagnosis and inclusion. The social media and content roadmap provided a framework for At The Millpond to build on this external visibility through its own channels and connect media opportunities with wider expert-led content.

Our work also supported The Event, using Isobel’s work as an author as another route into conversations about masking, identity and neurodivergence. This allowed the novel to complement her wider profile while keeping her expertise and the work of At The Millpond at the centre of the communications strategy.

Most importantly, the work has delivered more than coverage. It has increased awareness of At The Millpond, strengthened Isobel’s profile across mainstream and specialist audiences and generated direct inbound enquiries, while opening up further opportunities for speaking, podcasts, expert commentary and collaboration.

The work with At The Millpond demonstrates how strategic communications can build the profile of both an expert and the organisation behind them. By connecting thought leadership, media, content, social strategy, speaking and founder profiling around a consistent set of themes, we have helped turn Isobel’s expertise into greater recognition and new opportunities for the consultancy.

If your organisation is looking for strategic communications support to strengthen its profile, establish its experts and reach new audiences, please get in touch to discuss how we can work together.
